Once you've tried all these troubleshooting steps and if the issue still persists, you may want to contact Apple Support or WhatsApp support for further assistance.

Seeing that WhatsApp Messenger takes space on your iCloud storage only means that you have a proper backup on Apple’s servers, but it does not necessarily mean that it’s available for the local app on your iPhone. In order for the local WhatsApp Messenger app to backup to and restore from iCloud, you need to activate two things on your iPhone:

Activate iCloud Drive

H3

H3: Open Settings. H3: Access the iCloud panel. H3: On iOS 10.3 and up, tap on your Apple ID, then on iCloud. H3: On iOS 10.2 and down, scroll down and tap on iCloud. H3: Scroll down and activate iCloud Drive. H3: Wait a bit for the iCloud Drive to activate. H3: Make sure that WhatsApp is toggled on too. H3: Re-open WhatsApp to restore your backup.
