Why is the iPhone 6 Fingerprint Sensor Not Working?
If the fingerprint sensor Touch ID on your iPhone 6 is not working, there could be several reasons behind the issue. Here are some common causes and solutions:
Dirty Sensor
The Touch ID sensor can become dirty or smudged. Clean the home button gently with a soft lint-free cloth to ensure it is free from dust and fingerprints.
Software Update
Ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Sometimes software bugs can affect Touch ID functionality. Check for updates by going to Settings General Software Update.
Re-register Fingerprints
If your fingerprints are not being recognized, try deleting the existing fingerprints and re-registering them. Go to Settings Touch ID Passcode to manage your fingerprints.
Moisture or Dirt
If your fingers are wet or dirty, or if there is moisture on the home button, the sensor may not work properly. Make sure your hands and the device are clean and dry.
Case Interference
Sometimes a phone case can obstruct the fingerprint sensor. Try removing the case to see if that resolves the issue.
Hardware Issues
If none of the above solutions work, there may be a hardware problem with the fingerprint sensor. In this case, it may require professional repair or replacement.
Reset Settings
As a last resort, you can reset all settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings General Transfer or Reset iPhone Reset Reset All Settings. This will not delete your data but will reset system settings. If the problem persists after trying these steps, consider visiting an Apple Store or an authorized service provider for further diagnosis.
Unable to Scan Documents with Notes App?
Are you unable to figure out how to scan your documents using the Notes application on your iPhone or iPad? It's not a problem for everyone. The latest iOS versions come with a brand new Document Scanner within the Notes app. It will automatically detect and scan documents, then edit the scan, and save or share it with ease. However, not all users are aware of how to use this feature.
Ensure You Have iOS 11 or Later
The document scanner feature on iPhone and iPad is only available as of iOS 11. Determine your current iOS version by going to Settings General About. If your device is running an older iOS version, you can upgrade to iOS 11 or use a third-party document scanner or PDF app. For example, follow this tutorial on how to scan PDF files on an iPhone with one of the top document scanners like QuickScan App.
Check for the Scan Document Option in Notes App
If your phone is running iOS 11 but still doesn't show the bar over the predictive words on the keyboard, you may need to look for a setting that hides or unhides the bar. In the Settings Notes Default Account, check the number of accounts you have set up for notes. Additionally, you can find all accounts for Notes in Settings Accounts and Passwords Accounts.
Blame Third-Party Notes Services
The most frequent issue is that you are using a third-party Notes service that is not iCloud, such as a service like Yahoo Mail. If you are able to sync notes to Yahoo Mail but not to iCloud, you won't be able to access the Scan Document option when creating or editing notes.
The built-in scanner for documents in the Notes app works only when notes are linked to iCloud or the local notes folder on the iOS device. To use the scanner:
Launch the Notes app on your iPhone. Open the Notes app and go to the home screen. You will find a list of folders. The folders in the Notes app are built around the accounts that you have set up and activated for notes. You can move between different Notes folders to iCloud Notes or the local notes folder. Once you do this, start a note in the Notes app or create a new one. Look for the Scan Document icon on top of the keyboard, then select options below to scan documents.
