My Recently Played Songs: A Journey Through the Decades
Recently, I found myself listening to songs from the early 1980s. It's fascinating to remember how much music can change over time, but some classic tunes still resonate with me as strongly as ever.
The Last Two Songs Played on My Phone
The last two songs I played were Paul Simon's Graceland and Men Without Hats' Moonbeam. These albums were from the 1980s, and they brought back a nostalgic feeling. Graceland, in particular, is a gem that deserves more attention for its blend of South African rhythms and American pop.
The Late Installment of Life's a Mess pt 2
The release of the Late Installment of Life’s a Mess pt 2 by Juice WRLD and its clever featuring with Post Malone took me down a nostalgic memory lane. It’s a modern take on a classic hip-hop vibe, which is always refreshing.
Angelic Harmony
The last song playing on my phone was a lesser-known piece called “Angels singing,” which is from the Revelation 5:11 NIV Bible. It’s not a typical song to hear, but it’s powerful and makes a great ending to a day. Here’s the associated image: Image.
Classic 70s to 90s Hits
Music is a universal language, and it often intertwines with personal experiences. I haven’t listened to music on my phone in a few weeks (perhaps months), so I couldn’t remember exactly which songs I had played. However, my best guess is that it was one of these: Boney M’s 'Daddy Cool' or 'No Woman No Cry.'
My music tastes aren’t about genres or trends; they're about finding songs that resonate. I mostly listen to music from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. But why limit myself? Here are some of my favorites:
Weezer - Island in the Sun
This song was featured in a TV commercial from Orange wireless carrier in Romania many years ago. It's a memorable tune that has stuck with me for a long time.
No Limit - When I Dream of You
I heard this song while on the bus in Bucharest during my student years. Despite it not being a popular song, it’s hauntingly memorable. I've been searching for this song for 7-8 years but finally found it on YouTube a few years ago.

However, the spirit of music remains, and it’s compelling to revisit these classics and find new favorites along the way. At the end of the day, it’s about the music that tickles your ears and touches your heart.
