My Journey with Touchscreen Phones: From HTC FireWire to the iPhone 12
My journey with touchscreen phones has taken me through various brands and models over the last decade. The story of which touchscreen phone gave me my first touch and when I acquired it is an interesting one. Early Days: HTC FireWire 2010
Back in the fall of 2010, I decided to upgrade to the HTC Wildfire. This decision was driven by the need for something modern yet simple. The WifiWildfire managed to fulfill my expectations quite well, as it handled all the basic functions seamlessly. Its relatively decent camera also added to its appeal. Although it wasn’t revolutionary by modern standards, it was a significant jump from my previous Motorola Razr V3 flip phone, which I had been using.
A Step Backward: iPhone 3G
My journey with touchscreen phones took an interesting turn in late 2012 when I switched to an iPhone 3G. This model was a step backward in terms of its release date, but I was eager to experience an iPhone firsthand. The primary reason for this switch was to give the iPhone a try and see if it met my preferences. The iPhone 3G, despite its age, was a revelation in terms of its user interface and usability.
iPhone 5s and Beyond
The next major change in my smartphone saga came in 2015 when I switched to an iPhone 5S. I continued using this phone until 2018, which marked a significant leap in the world of smartphones. During this period, the iPhone 5S was still a capable device, but it became increasingly outdated. In 2018, I made the switch to an iPhone 6. Unfortunately, the battery life on this device was a source of constant frustration. After trying to make the best use of it, I switched back to my trusty iPhone 5S, which has served me well to this day.
Future Possibilities: iPhone 12 and Beyond
Currently, I am considering the transition to the latest technology with the iPhone 12 or beyond. I am eager to embrace the modern features and advancements that these newer models offer. It’s clear that the smartphone landscape has changed dramatically over the years, and I am excited to see what the future holds in store. My move toward more advanced devices like the iPhone 12 represents not just a technological shift but a renewed sense of excitement about the possibilities of mobile technology.
