Congress to Grant Rajasthan Chief Minster Post to Sachin Pilot Amid Political Turmoil

After the recent resignation of Jyotiraditya Scindia, the focus has shifted to who will take over as the Chief Minister (CM) of Rajasthan. While many speculate that Sachin Pilot might fill this post, it is important to understand the dynamics at play.

Current Political Landscape

In the context of the upcoming elections, it is almost certain that if the Indian National Congress party wins, Sachin Pilot will become the CM of Rajasthan. However, this will not happen in the immediate future—the next change is likely in 2023.

The debate is not about personal loyalty to Sonia Gandhi and her family, but about which candidate is most deserving of the position based on their track record. Pilot has shown unwavering dedication and perseverance in bringing the party to a position of power. Despite this effort, he has not been adequately rewarded. With Gehlot's advancing age and multiple failed attempts to become the CM, it is time to give the opportunity to a younger generation.

Gehlot, a seasoned politician and Gandhi clan representative, will continue to hold significant influence as the Congress president. He is unlikely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reasons that go beyond disagreement and personal objections, but more importantly, his wife, Sarah Abdullah, will not permit it. The BJP will not have Sachin Pilot either, as they are determined to form a government without the support of a third party. Neeraj Singh Nadda, a prominent figure within the BJP, has learned from the Maharashtra incident and will appoint Vasundra, who has garnered significant support in the recent polls, as the CM of Rajasthan.

Politics and Prospects

Sachin Pilot is expected to continue fighting for his rights within the INC, but he will not leave the party. The only possibility for him to become the CM is if the Congress party itself grants him the position. BJP will not form a government without a third party partner, and if they do, they will likely appoint Vasundra, given her recent electoral success. There is a possibility that some BJP MLAs might support Gehlot if they are not chosen as the CM.

According to analysts, Sachin Pilot might wait until after the floor test before making any significant moves. If Scindia continues to perform the same work as Salim Nizami did in Madhya Pradesh, it is possible that Sachin Pilot might eventually make his own entry into governance. It remains to be seen how these dynamics will play out and what decisions Pilot and other key players will make in the coming days.
