A Neutral Stance in the Star Wars Universe: Neither Light nor Dark

As I ponder my alignment within the rich and complex universe of Star Wars, I find myself neither squarely on the side of the light nor the dark. Often, I lean towards the myriad of individuals and characters who remain on the sidelines, neither force sensitive nor aligned with either the Jedi or the Sith. This stance reflects a broader sentiment among many Star Wars enthusiasts who find the concept of an exclusive allegiance to either side both limiting and incongruous with the vastness of the galaxy.

My Complex Sides

Initially, one might think that I would be inclined towards the dark side, given my ambition and the focus on strength and power that it requires. The allure of the dark side is its promise of immediate gratification and unbroken will. However, the light side also has its merits. It emphasizes virtues like compassion, justice, and the quest for balance. But my journey of self-discovery reveals that I am more complex than either side allows.

Evil or Ambidextrous?

When I consider the dark side, I see an embodiment of ambition and relentless pursuit of objectives, often at the expense of morality. In my own nature, I find emotions give me strength. If someone were to harm me, I would seek revenge, not forgive. Forgiveness can be viewed as a weakness, one that could be exploited. My nature is to scheme and manipulate to achieve my goals, ensuring that my enemies fall.

On the other hand, the light side, for all its noble intentions, can be overly moralistic to the point of self-destruction. The Jedi Order's downfall with Order 66 and Luke's failure to maintain the Jedi Order due to fear are prime examples. These failings arise from an obsession with purity and a rigid adherence to the principles of the light side.

The True Neutral Path

Ultimately, I find myself more aligned with the non-aligned individuals and beings in the Star Wars universe. The overwhelming majority of the galaxy’s populations are neither force sensitive nor caught up in the endless conflict between the light and dark sides. Characters like the Bendu from Star Wars: Rebels represent a different kind of hero—one who remains in the shadows, not driven by the dichotomous nature of the light and dark.

Given the flaws and manipulations inherent in both the light and dark sides, I would seek a path that is true to my own nature. If I were force sensitive, I would likely choose a neutral path, seeking my own purpose rather than being bound by the agendas of either side. Roles such as a smuggler, bounty hunter, diplomat, space merchant, or an adventurer exploring ancient ruins on Outer Rim planets would align with my desire for independence and freedom.

A Shot at Mandalorians

Much would depend on fate. I might venture to Concordia and attempt to become a Mandalorian. This journey would be fraught with danger and uncertainty, much like life itself. Mandalorian culture values honor, loyalty, and individualism, aligning well with a neutral and independent spirit.

In conclusion, my stance in the Star Wars universe is a reflection of self-reliance and a rejection of binary thinking. It is a reminder that true strength lies not in allegiance to a single side, but in the ability to adapt and find one's own path in a vast and complex universe.
